NZ urged to speak out about citizen imprisoned in Iran

The Government has been urged to break its silence on the plight of a New Zealand citizen reportedly sentenced to more than nine years’ imprisonment in Iran.
Several international outlets, including the BBC’s Persian-language arm, have reported on the arrest and imprisonment of Sereen Curtis, also known as Sereen Badiei, on charges of “inciting corruption and obscenity”, “insulting religious sanctities”, and “propaganda against the government”.
